Fabienne's diary:

It was a very hot afternoon. A terrible heat was blowing us in the face, 37 degrees!
The man that rang the bell was a hunter. He told us that he had many Podenco’s and came to bring us a few! We looked from a distance at his car but didn’t see any large ears jumping around in the car. He then removed a closed box from his black trunk! Flabbergasted and in a hurry we took the dogs out. They were peeing and shitting in all directions, they were panting and in shock. He was laughing and said they were not useful for hunting. Their mama was also such a scared dog he said, like this was normal! One thing is for sure: it was lucky he came to us with the dogs! How, we better not mention but both dogs are now a lot better, they are slowly gaining confidence. The fleas have been removed. They are puppies, they are so small and should be pure and innocent.
These Podenco’s have been very lucky and don’t have to live in stinking and disgusting circumstances like it is normal here……..
