Brooklyn is living for 2.5 months in his foster home. January 2017 he was adopted and arrived in the Netherlands and developed an atopy and food allergy, probably because of a weak immune system provoked by stress. For the adopters this was an insurmountable objection, and returned Brooklyn to ACE. A very sweet lady with a shelter and dog board helped ACE immediately. By taken care of him, finding out what exactly is his medical problem and to ensure that he got the right nutrition, medication and skin care. In September Brooklyn could go to a foster home. From day 1, Brooklyn fits in perfectly in our foster home (2 children aged 6 and 8, 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 rabbits). He is very sweet and gentle with humans and animals, big and small. He’s very affectionate and loves to cuddle and play: with people, with other dogs and also on his own with the toys. Brook is a happy, active dog, but in the house calm (unless you invite him to play of course). He is athletic and intelligent, so perfect for agility, flyball, canicross. He knows the basic commands and he comes when you call him. He sleeps in his crate at night, and can stay home alone. He’s happy to go with you in the car. Brook is easy-going on the leash, but on his way to the forest / park he pulls a bit out of enthusiasm. But of course he can still be trained in this. He doesn’t pay any attention to cars, runners, cyclists etc. In the forest / park he is off leash occasionally. Unknown dogs are still exciting, and he really needs support from his owner. That is why we are looking for a quiet and stable dog parent, with possibly another stable dog in the family. Brook needs a soft but clear approach. Brook is a mix breed Lagotto Romagnolo, an Italian waterhound. Besides having an extremely good sense of smell and loving water, he has a hypo allergenic coat! His fur is still somewhat short, but will grow longer and is wavy. He also looks a bit like a labradoodle. Brook is a handsome guy who attracts a lot of attention with his beautiful head. Brooks allergy is very well controlled. Now that he is no longer experiencing stress, has a good weight and gets the right diet, the medication has been slightly reduced. He eats sensitive dry dogfood (Granatapet at Zooplus € 4.60 per kg), gets 0.9 ml of Sporimune once a day and is washed 1 x 3 weeks with special shampoo (costs Sporimune and shampoo around € 25 p / month). The allergy of Brooklyn will, in all probability, never completely disappear, but a lower dosage of the Sporimune seems possible. With adoption you will receive the necessary information about his allergy: e.g. the current treatment, the do’s and dont’s , etc.

Brooklyn on youtube We took this pretty guy in our refugio when the shelter he was staying in was about to close. Not only has he a good appearance but a nice character too. He is social with other dogs, very attentive to people and follows you around everywhere. Brooklyn is a quiet dog, he is easy and obedient and a great dog who has a lot to offer. Who can offer him a forever home?
