Our visit to the eye specialist

Our visit to the eye specialist

December 19, 2018 16:26

Last week we took several dogs to the eye specialist...
Eyes came with us for his check up. He is being treated for an internal eye infection, which is a result of his Leishmaniosis. He has made a lot of progress, the infection clearly decreased but he still needs further treatment with eye drops.

Knorreke was our next patient. He has an adhesion in his left eye of the iris to the cornea, a result of an earlier perforation of the eye which badly healed. Unfortunately he doesn't see much to nothing with his left eye... He now gets treatment with a special eye cream, but he has to come back in a few months for a check up and to see if an eye lid operation might be necessary.

Our worry child Konan also came along. He was operated by our own vet twice because he had a deep ulcer in his eye. This unfortunately didn't have the result we hoped for and we therefore took him to the specialist. Konan now gets special eye drops and eye cream to treat his dry eyes, what probably is the cause of the slow healing of the ulcer...

The last one was Popo, our blind bull dog.. Our vet wanted to know if a surgery might be possible to give him back a little bit of sight. Unfortunately Popo's eye infection is so far developed, thanks to the Leishmaniosis, that nothing can help him anymore...

We want to put our saving group in the spotlights, because thanks to them we were able to perform these examinations.. Thank you to everybody who contributed, no matter how big or small, thank you....
