BBQ at SNACK ATTACK
 
 
Our annual BBQ at SNACK ATTACK was once a again a big hit. 130 people showed up for support.
We thank the people of SNACK ATTACK for their support, their show (as each year wonderful) that was making the people happy and dancing, the delicious food and their effort to help our strays.
We are very grateful as the evening raised 2400 Euro! Money we will spend to make the fences so that our dogs will have more space to run and play. We thank all the people that came and have supported us.
Thanks to Diana and Arabella they organised a wine afternoon
for our dogs, we raised 280 euro.
The wine was tasty and the atmosphere was really very nice!
SHIN DOES ANTWERP 10 MILES-SAVING DOGS, ONE MILE AT A TIME
REQUEST FOR SPONSORSHIP
ACE is a small, hard-working organization that is committed to caring for abandoned, neglected and mistreated dogs and cats in the south of Spain. Officially recognized since 2002, SHIN has as aim to find loving new homes for these animals inside or outside of Spain. In the Netherlands and Belgium ACE is known as SHIN (“Spaanse Honden in Nood”). Thanks to the efforts of our volunteers in Spain, Belgium, The Netherlands and Germany, more than 2000 dogs have been rescued and rehomed since 2001!
On the 20th of April SHIN will be present at the “Antwerp 10 Miles”, where 11 volunteer runners will take part to help raise funds for SHIN. You will find more info on our website under 'activities' as well as on our blog. http://www.aceshin.blogspot.com
Currently we are looking for sponsors: family, friends, colleagues or companies that are willing to sponsor a runner. The aim of our participation in this event is to raise much needed funds, which we will use to pay for the urgent operations some of our dogs need (more info can be found on our blog).
Our runners will run with one single, unified aim: to raise as much money as possible for SHIN! Any amount, no matter how big or small, is very much appreciated!
There are various sponsoring options to choose from:
1) sponsor 1 runner - amount per kilometer (payment after the event)
2) sponsor all runners - amount per kilometer (payment after the event)
3) sponsoring of the event for a fixed amount to be determined by the sponsor (payment before the event)
What we can offer your company?
- your company name will be mentioned on our blog
- Donations above 500€: your company name on our website
- Handing out your sponsor package at the Antwerp 10 Mile event (on request)

To all the volunteers that have sold the pies:
We have sold a total of 330 pies, and this accounts for a profit of 973 euros!
More info about the collection and delivery will be sent in an other mail to the volunteers who have participated in selling the pies.

Hi everybody,
A few lines to let you all know of the events that are planned for the next couple of months.
As we raised a wonderful 940€ at the last boot sale and gained some new members, we think it a good idea to have them on a regular basis. We were planning on the lst Sunday of each month but with other commitments the first 3 planned will be on odd dates but reasonably spaced apart. We will need to collect bric a brac and anything that can be sold to raise money for the kennels so I am asking you all to please keep a look out for anything that might be useful to us. Help is also welcomed on the Saturday evening from 5pm to set up the tables and sort the bric a brac as well as on the Sunday morning to man the stalls. Please let me know if and when you can offer some help.
We are also arranging the usual summer barbecue at the Snack Attack in Jardin Botanico, La Cala de Mijas.
This event is always popular and successful and tickets will cost 25€ for a really good barbecue supper.

I will text all the people who came to the last two boot sales to let them know these dates. Fabienne is also printing off small handout leaflets in English and Spanish for us to put around as many urbanisations as possible. If you can take a few then please let her know. All the events will be listed on this.
So, let's see if we can keep up the momentum and raise the much needed funds for the heavily increased number of animals we are helping. Those who visit the kennels regularly will know that we have been through a bit of a crisis lately and have been absolutely overloaded with dogs and pups but you will also know that ACE is there to save as many lives as possible and that is non-negotiable. We are not 'selective' like some other animal charities and the work is hard and will probably be never ending. This crisis will pass and things will settle down from being hellish to just plain frantic!! - we will never see it as being easy while dogs and pups are just treated as a disposable commodity. Thanks though, to those of you who have been working so hard to keep all these dogs fed, watered and most of all safe - and who, sooner or later will be given a chance of a new life.

Boot sale
Saturday we had worked hard for the preparations, then Sunday the market brought a lot people on the leg and our dogs were also of the party, got an extra walk and extra knuffels, and at the end of the day we had a total of 940 euro, with thanks to our volunteers, it was a SUPER day!!!

2nd Hand Shop
Please visit our Second Hand Shop which is run by our volunteers. Again all proceeds go towards helping our dogs. If you have any second hand bits around the house you no longer use, we are always happy to take them off of your hands!
