In 1999 Fabiënne Paques established Rescue Center El Refugio in Mijas Costa in Spain and she personally cares for all dogs that are brought in to El Refigio.
These dogs have been abused, neglected or may have been wandering for some time. Without the help from Fabienne all dogs would have been killed in a killing station within 10 days.
Our organization gives all dogs a chance, regardless of race, age or health status. If El Refugio is overcrowded, the dogs are placed in the homes of volunteers and /or at the home of Fabiënne as we at any cost want to prohibit that any dog is put to sleep.
