In Memoriam
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food and water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they miss someone very special to them; who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. The bright eyes are intent; the eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to break away from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. YOU have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
THEN YOU CROSS RAINBOW BRIDGE TOGETHER...

Nugget
+ September 5, 2007
Nugget bless her came to us full of beans, but then we found out she had epilepsy and her troubles really began, she cracked her hip during a fit and this caused her great pain, her fits stabilised but the pain she was experiencing from her hip was so great that we couldn't see her suffer anymore, she was a real character and would always make you laugh, she has left a big hole here at Granada Dogs.

June was a real comical little girl and was a very special little dog, you couldn't help but smile when you were with her, she unfortunately got a nasty infection in her leg which made her so low it took over her whole body, she was very brave and we will miss her terribly at Granada Dogs.

Betty
+ June 26, 2007
She was not fortunate to have a devoted and loving mother, she was left with her sister BamBam, to starve in the campo, being only four weeks old.
Just 1 night she felt love and devotion, from a few human beings....who tried the whole night to keep her alive, but, she was too weak to survive...
At least she passed the Rainbow Bridge carrying a name, Betty, and with the knowledge that there was somebody who loved her...
goodbye Betty, Gina xx
Bing
+ June 18, 2007
Bing came to us on 5th December 2006, he was in very poor condition as with all Podenco's they don't have a very nice life in Spain, but we fed him up and he was looking really good, then we found out he had Leishmania and he was coping with this very well, but he went down hill quickly with heart problems and unfortunately we had to have him put to sleep, we are pleased that Bing at least had 6 months being loved which I'm sure he had never experienced before, he was a wonderful dog, very elegant and refined,
we will miss him xx Granada Dogs

Rest In Peace....
Sjakie
+ October 2006
He was a real sweet and affectionate little thing...dumped by people in the Refugio. Our volunteer Pamela fell in love with him, we all did our best for him, but unfortunately he had a short life...Yvonne said goodbye to him yesterday for good, with a lot of pain in her heart. We herewith want to express our feelings and wish her all the best...
If it should be that I grow frail and weak And pain should keep me from my sleep, Then will you do what must be done, For this--the last battle--can't be won.
You will be sad I understand, But don't let grief then stay your hand, For on this day, more than the rest, Your love and friendship must stand the test.
We have had so many happy years, You wouldn't want me to suffer so. When the time comes, please, let me go.
Take me to where my needs they'll tend, Only, stay with me till the end And hold me firm and speak to me Until my eyes no longer see.
I know in time you will agree It is a kindness you do to me. Although my tail its last has waved, From pain and suffering I have been saved.
Don't grieve that it must be you Who has to decide this thing to do; We've been so close--we two--these years,
Don't let your heart hold any tears.
